on 27th April, 2025. The Youth Alliance for Peace & Development (YAPD), in collaboration with the District Administration Nowshera and the District Youth Office Nowshera, recently organized an insightful educational visit to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. This initiative aimed to enhance young people’s understanding of governance and the legislative process while encouraging active civic participation.
A group of 25 enthusiastic and dedicated youth members took part in the visit, where they had the unique opportunity to attend a live Assembly session. Witnessing the proceedings firsthand provided them with valuable exposure to how laws are discussed, debated, and enacted.
The participants were also given a comprehensive orientation at the Jirga Hall by the Secretary of the KP Assembly. The session covered the Assembly’s history, structure, and key functions, helping students gain a deeper understanding of its role in shaping provincial governance.
One of the highlights of the visit was the interaction with several prominent figures. The youth engaged with Abdul Karim Khan, along with senior officials including Waqar Khan and Saifullah Khan. They also met respected members of the provincial assembly such as Sobia Khan, Ikram Ullah, and Fazle Elahi.
The students actively participated in a question-and-answer session, where they asked thoughtful questions and received detailed responses. This interactive dialogue not only strengthened their understanding of the legislative system but also inspired them to take a more active role in their communities.
Overall, the visit was a meaningful and enriching experience. It served as a powerful reminder of the importance of youth engagement in democratic processes and highlighted the role of such initiatives in nurturing informed, responsible, and proactive citizens.
